Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz fettuccine or your favorite pasta
  • 1 lb chicken breast sliced into strips
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 bell pepper sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes adjust to heat preference
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions
 

Cook the Pasta:

  • In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package directions. Once cooked, drain and set aside.

Cook the Chicken:

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced chicken breast and season with Cajun seasoning, paprika, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Cook until the chicken is golden and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Sauté the Veggies:

  • In the same skillet, add the diced onion, garlic, and bell pepper. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened.

Prepare the Sauce:

  • Add the chicken broth to the skillet and let it simmer for 2 minutes. Then, add the heavy cream and bring it to a gentle simmer. Cook for 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

Combine and Finish:

  • Return the chicken to the skillet, stirring to coat it in the sauce. Add the cooked pasta and Parmesan cheese, tossing to combine everything until the pasta is coated in the creamy, spicy sauce. Adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.

Serve:

  • Garnish with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan cheese, if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy your spicy, creamy, and flavorful rattlesnake pasta!

Notes

For extra heat, you can increase the amount of red pepper flakes or even add a dash of hot sauce to the sauce. This dish also pairs well with a side of garlic bread and a fresh green salad.
